Genus: Lechea

pinweed

To identify our species of Lechea, it is necessary to look at both flowering shoots and basal leaves. The basal leaf blades are formed in the late summer when the plants begin to fruit. They overwinter but die back when the flowering shoots are produced in the spring and summer. You may need to observe the plants in both seasons.
